8 Cube Brighton Backgammon Club

For those that want to learn, find someone to play, as well as those who want some financial action.

Membership of the club is free until further notice.

Club nights and Sunday tournaments to be arranged once a month as far as possible subject to participation.

Club Nights

to be at the Sidewinder pub, St. James’s Street, Brighton every week on a Tuesday as part of the Brighton Premier Backgammon league (subject to change).

Club also plays at a number of other possible venues including but not limited to; Fortune of War (Beach), Rybka Fish Bar (South Laine), and others.

Match formats will generally be 7, 9 or 11 points.

There will also be some Chouette for those who love to play for money.

Rated Matches

All matches played will be UKBGF rated.

Rich McQuillan has arranged this with UKBGF and is looking after all data. If you have any results that are not registered please discuss with him as appropriate.

Tournaments

dates to be arranged.

Location of Tournaments to be generally at the Sidewinder, Brighton. Alternative locations may be agreed depending on conditions.

Tournament / Match formats will be agreed depending on number of Participants. Match lengths will generally be 7 – 11 points.

Entry will be £20 (Subject to change) plus £5 registration fee

Registration fees will ALL go towards a future prize pot / trophy. There will be a larger pot for those that attend most which is the fairest way. Any actual costs associated with this will be deducted from total under agreement.

Beginners and Novices.

All welcome

Every  week on a Tuesday evening 7pm onwards held at The Sidewinder (Kemptown).

Not exclusively for Beginners and Novices, everyone is welcome but aimed at teaching the game to those that want to learn. There is currently no fee for this, just come along and join in, play and learn and have a great drink (Not free).
